Presentation of “Andiamo al Museo” at the National Gallery of Rome

Throughout the month of December, to celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome offers meeting opportunities to promote the culture of accessibility. In the wake of MAPS – Accessible Museums for Deaf People we will be there with the presentation of the book “Let’s go to the museum: experiences, proposals and good practices for a cultural heritage accessible to deaf people” by Amir Zuccalà.

See you tomorrow, Wednesday 12 December 2018, at 17.00 at the National Gallery in Via delle Belle Arti 131. Entry is free and the LIS interpreting service will be guaranteed. For info and registration write an email to: beniculturali@ens.it

“Let’s go to the museum” is a collection of contributions gathered in a publication to support the projects currently in the field (the MAPS project now at the conclusion and Accessibitaly) and dedicated to accessibility of cultural heritage and tourism for deaf people. Contributions that intend to reflect on key topics of considerable relevance in the field of accessibility, such as universal design, communication, the creation of accessible services, the use of new technologies, with a view that sees deaf people as protagonists.

The volume, also printed thanks to the contribution of the Directorate General for Libraries and Cultural Institutes, aims to be a general reflection on accessibility and a collection of good practices, critical issues and proposals for an ever greater diffusion and standardization of services conceived and realized with and for deaf people.
