Final Conference of the MAPS project | Rome, 3 December

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities, the ENS Central Office is pleased to invite you to the FINAL CONVENTION of the MAPS project – Accessible Museums for Deaf People. During the morning of 3 December – in the AIL Onlus Conference Room in Via Casilina 5, Rome – the project’s working group will present the results achieved after 18 months of implementation. In particular, the new ACCESSIBITALY website will be presented, which will gather all museums and cultural sites accessible to deaf people in Italy, and will be told, by the same protagonists, the course on museum accessibility that has toured the whole country and involved more than 400 girls and deaf guys. To help us in presenting the results obtained there will be some of the MAPS referents, fundamental in the organization of the courses held throughout Italy, and the participants in the lessons, the MAPS teachers and the project partners. Various authorities will then be present and will demonstrate their closeness to the project and to the deaf community and representatives of museums that have collaborated with MAPS. We look forward to continuing to build together that real network of cooperation that wants to break down every barrier and make the incredible cultural heritage of our country accessible to everyone.
